AAAS 2021 Annual Meeting | Our Oppenheimer Moment

Our Oppenheimer Moment: When Big Tech, Research Ethics, and Human Rights Collide

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) seeks to “advance science, engineering, and innovation throughout the world for the benefit of all people.”

Mary L. Gray presents as a plenary speaker as part of the AAAS 2021 Annual Meeting, rethinking the definitions of science, particularly technologies and sciences coming together into a new world of trans-disciplinary sciences; the social failures that come from collisions of tech sciences, big tech companies, and human rights colliding; lessons from the past; and recommendations to diffuse the future of a tech world where the sciences are constantly interacting with society and its needs.
